Reading Program

“WORD (War On Reading Difficulties, is a literature based reading program of V.L. Angliongto, Sr. Elementary School envisions to provide the basic reading skills and assistance for the improvement of a learner’s reading proficiency level through a functional and effective instruction. The program is a positive way of fighting reading defects among pupils by making reading fun- filled through the use of high- interest storybooks. It also welcomes the important roles of parents in rearing their children to become better readers. This reading program is designed to provide lessons and practices for the learners with reading deficiencies and to afford an avenue for them to achieve their full potential in their reading skills. Further, WORD reaches out to those pupils who are significantly below in their reading level. Pupils in the program meet with the reading teacher on an individual or small group basis to develop their decoding skills and to improve their comprehension through the use of high interest reading materials. The program focuses specifically on assessing individuals and developing strategies to help pupils become successful readers.
